Seeing Christ in the Crisis

Crisis come to us in all shapes and sizes.

They can be world-wide pandemics that leave people worrying about themselves and loved ones or wars that stretch across the globe that threaten the lives of millions. Crisis can also be something that we are dealing with personally that those around us cannot see. They can be relationship issues, financial problems, or a deep, personal struggles. When crisis like these enter our lives, they can leave us feeling depressed, anxious, and fearful.

Crises often hit us when we are not expecting them, and they are a lot bigger than we ever imagined.

What is the solution? Is it possible to see Christ in our time of crisis?

1. Understand that everyone deals with crises.

The Bible tells us that nobody is immune from trouble happening to them.

The Bible says in Job 5:7, “Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.” The day we take our first breath is the day that we begin to be around troubles. When we get older and begin to understand what trouble is it is at that point we feel like David in the Bible, Psalm 22:11 “Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.”

Everyone at some point in their life must deal with crisis. The biggest crisis that everyone eventually will have to deal with is answering to God for their sin at the judgement. The Bible tells us, Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”

No one is immune to the fact that they will have to answer to God for their actions and friend this is the biggest crisis that anyone will ever have to deal with.

2. Understand that Christ ALONE has the answer to get you through your crises.

Whether the crisis is physical, in our soul, or spiritual, Christ alone is the answer.

Christ alone can carry our burdens – 1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

Christ alone can hear your prayer – Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Christ alone can forgive sin – Ephesians 1:7 “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.”

3. Commit your life to Christ and give the crisis over to Him.

It’s not about not having anymore crises.

People may think that the blessing of being a Christian is that Christians never go through any crisis, however the blessing of being a Christian is knowing that you have Jesus Christ’s presence with you while going through a time of crisis.
Jesus said in Hebrews 13:5, “…I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”

You can have His presence to if you ask Him for it. The Bible says, Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

With the presence of God comes the peace of God, John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

If you are willing to admit your sin, commit your life to Christ, and ask Him for salvation then He will give it to you. And if you are willing to give your crisis over to Him in prayer, friend, He will take it from you.

You can see Christ in the Crisis!
